Bill Berg is the founding partner at Berg, McLaughlin & Nelson. He began his law practice in Sandpoint after six years in Seattle as deputy prosecuting attorney for King County, emphasizing trial and appellate advocacy. He moved to Sandpoint in 2001, and started a solo practice focusing on estate planning, real estate and business law.

Toby McLaughlin is a Sandpoint native and 1992 graduate of Sandpoint High who came home in late 2006 to join Bill Berg in the new law firm, Berg, McLaughlin & Nelson, Chtd. After earning his law degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Oregon in 2002, he joined Witherspoon, Kelley, Davenport & Toole in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene.
